On January 30, a ceremony for the transfer of the second helicopter H225 Super Puma to the rescuers took place at the Special Aviation Unit of the SES of Ukraine. This helicopter Ukraine received in the framework of the creation of the aviation safety system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Head of the SESU Mykola Chechotkin, Ukrainian pilots will more effectively complete the task for their intended purpose with the new modern technology. “These multifunctional helicopters can and will be used to perform many tasks, in particular fire extinguishing, search and rescue operations, aerial reconnaissance of emergency zones, as well as the task of sanitary aviation,” – said Mykola Chechotkin.
In general, the contract provides for the purchase of 55 new and used helicopters for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We will also remind that Ukraine will have a center for maintenance of these helicopters, which will enable to serve not only their machines, but also to take the orders of the European partners, to strengthen the cooperation with the European Union.
